This American Punk and Hardcore Show Totally Rocks the 4th of July

This Show Totally Rocks 41 American Hardcore 4th July Show

So in honour of my former nation’s national day, this week’s show is all Yank music, mostly of the early American Hardcore variety.    Things kick off with The Circle Jerks, Angry Samoans, Agent Orange, The Adolescents, The Freeze, DI and The Vandals, before taking a break from the 70’s and 80’s for The Gits, Fleshies, Autistic Youth, Tongan Death Grip (click link for free download of album!) and The Mean Jeans.  We head back to yesteryear for some of The Queers, The Dicks, The Dead Boys, The Hollywood Squares, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, The MC5 and the Dickies.  Things return to the present(ish) for The Spits, Moonhearts, The Boston Chinks and Psyched to Die, before the inevitable return to the salad days of  early American punk with The Descendents and 7 seconds.  The final tune is one that you wouldn’t guess in a million years, isn’t punk, but keeps finding it’s way to the stereo when I hit random and has the word ‘America’ in the title.

Tune in, cook meat, shoot guns, let’s rock.

It’s a bit late to be on about the Eurovision I know, but here is a collection of artists who could, but hopefully never will, apply for the glamourous event (excluding ABBA of course, who did a bloody good job at it). The show kicks off with a new French band called ‘We Are Enfant Terrible’. The track is taken from their newest E.P. “Anything Less Than Extraordinary Is A Waste Of My Time”.  A follow up to their 2010 album “Explicit Pictures” is also expected to be released later this year.

Also featured in the show is another great, new French band called “Black Luna”. Check them out on Facebook!

When we enter this place
We enter to the pace
Of this
Designer of our existence
Time to be born
Time to eat
Time to sleep
Time to grow
Time to work
Time to walk
Time to run
Time to hurt
Time to heal
Time to hate
Time to love
Time to feel
But no matter what times we meet
There is one time we can’t defeat
The time to die
