• Radioactive International is a collective of like-minded people who are passionate about their music, art and politics. We are a free-form radio station with no set formats, playlists or genres. We have nearly 40 DJs playing a varied mixture of alternative music from punk, metal, ska, reggae and historical recordings. Our main rule? No fascists, racists, sexists, homophobes or religious presenters. We broadcast online, but also transmit live from gigs and festivals. Expect to hear about lefty music, politics and art. A motto of the station is that we’re not here to break the law with an illegal radio station just to play bland pop music available on many of the state and corporate stations.
  • This Show Totally Rocks 64 12th December

This week’s show has a wide variety of styles and is sprinkled liberally with stoner rock which may explain why I forgot to mention half the bands played on the show while doing the show.  It all kicks off with a big drum intro from Big Business.  In keeping with the last few shows, there is a shout out to another U:Mack gig with local band Twinkranes supporting Wooden Shjips on Saturday in the Grand Social.  Next it’s Purling Hiss, a live and unmentioned one from Big Black and then on to Scratch Acid, Crime Wave, Unsane and HelmetBlack Sabbath are next of course because they are playing just up the road in Belfast tonight.  With the metal well and truly out of the way, things go well punk with Cerebral Ballzy, Snuff, The Mean Jeans, D.O.A., Culture Shock, Moutpiece and Fugazi before a couple of classics from Janes Addiction and The Pixies make an appearance.  Last it’s a bit more local music from No Spill Blood.  Tune in over the next couple of weeks for a year end round up and a hopefully annual guest appearance from my lovely wife.  Meanwhile, stick this one on and turn it up!
