• Radioactive International is a collective of like-minded people who are passionate about their music, art and politics. We are a free-form radio station with no set formats, playlists or genres. We have nearly 40 DJs playing a varied mixture of alternative music from punk, metal, ska, reggae and historical recordings. Our main rule? No fascists, racists, sexists, homophobes or religious presenters. We broadcast online, but also transmit live from gigs and festivals. Expect to hear about lefty music, politics and art. A motto of the station is that we’re not here to break the law with an illegal radio station just to play bland pop music available on many of the state and corporate stations.
  • This Show Totally Rocks 67 9th January

I was sick as a dog all week (for the first time in about 10 years), but the punk rock (and a couple of beers) miraculously cured me.  This week’s show kicks off with a classics of Portland set in honour of the announcenment that Poison Idea will be returning to Ireland this August.  So of course things kick off with Poison Idea and then The Wipers, Dead Moon and The Stiphnoyds.  Next it’s a bit of Leatherface and then an Infinity Cat Records double-header featuring Diarrhea Planet and Jeff the BrotherhoodQueens of the Stone Age, The Eagles of Death Metal and Men Without Pants keep it boppin, before it gets all jaged with The Ex, Las Nurses and local ledgebags Roosky.  Next it’s Jay Reatard and then an Ohio double-header from The New Bomb Turks and Gaunt.  Rumour has it that The Dwarves are coming to the Thomas House at some point this year so they get a look in and then it’s the Night Birds, Smart Cops, Dean Dirg, Hunx and his Punx and The Misfits.  Rounding things off it’s a bit of NomeansNo.

Stick it in, turn it on, 2014 is gonna totally rock.
