Plague Tapes #73

This comes to you as a news flash.  The best laid plans from Christmas appear to have soured with the figures in today.  764 cases today.  The news is here at 71 mins in: if thats what you need to hear.

There’s also music, and Dr. Groove brings you the words of Rumi the Persian poet:

Rumi:-

Sit with your friends; don’t go back to sleep

Don’t sink like a fish to the bottom of the sea.

Life’s water flows from darkness.

Search the darkness, don’t run from it.

Night travelers are full of light,

and you are, too; don’t leave this companionship.

News: with Andrew

Andrew brings us all the news.  He explains the difference between postive swabs and cases. We appear to have a doubling of cases over six days, and we are looking at everything from the point of view of this is what happened 10 days ago because of the lag.  There is creedence with a new more infectious mutation of the virus being found in London, and this has led to travel bans from London from other European countries, which we have imposed ourselves from midnight tonight.  Our 5 days average has gone from 300 to over 400 and is steadily on the rise.  The curve is heading straight up, and shows no sign of slowing down.  We also have a high incidence now everywhere.  So, the advice is be smart, make your plans for this Christmas appropriately, do the right thing.  We await our great leaders to make the call, knowing that they should make it sooner rather than later, and knowing that we will know very shortly, like the last time, the cost of not acting quickly.

Mind each other out there.
