Plague Tapes #81
First friday in February and we bring you the latest information about Covid, and Dr. Groove brings you wonderful music whilst recognising that his role as DJ is coming from the place of being a failed muscian. The track Joy is a live recording which is virtuaso music all the way. Then in the second set we have the great Go-Betweens and the Wrong Road – which brought us back to late 80’s London and the hard lessons learned on them wrong roads.
The ghosts in the next room hear you cough
Time drags on Sundays spent in Mayfair
With all your riches, why aren’t you there?
The wind acts like a magnet
And pulls the leaf from the tree
And the town’s lost its breath
I took the Wrong Road round
Handsome is good, pretty is better
What was that phrase
Grace under pressure?
Blind by the light bulb
Blood to the bank
News at 73 mins: Andrew brings us an accessment of the damage from the battlefield, as the smoke clears on January, and we find 1100 peopel dead and over 100,000 people infected with the c19 in that one month. We have 70% of all new infections being the Boris – B117 variant. 1300 cases yesterday, so the decline that in cases has also slowed down. Contract tracing has now commenced again, which will lead to a bump, because we are finding more cases, but this should all even itself out next week and we will have a clearer picture of where we are heading. Vaccine news is discussed a little at the end, and there are plans afoot for major vaccine centres all over the country.
Love & Rage,
Dr. Groove
