The 90’s Pacific Northwest Show Totally Rocks 25th MAy

This is not a grunge show.  It was kind of supposed to be, but then I remembered that grunge was never a term these bands used to define themselves.  It was foisted upon them by the press that needed to call this scene something.  That’s how Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam got put in the same genre even though they share nothing more than a hometown and a love of shorts and flannels.  This was supposed to be a show for Chris Cornell, but I don’t own any Audioslave and my Temple of the Dog cassette tape has long been lost.  My library of big name Soundgarden contemporaries is also quite small.  So this is a 90’s Pacific Northwest Show, book-ended by Soundgarden.  It is a show of some of the lesser known bands that kicked ass -often on the same bills as Chris Cornell- in 90’s, in a wet little corner of America.  Tune in for:

Soundgarden

Melvins

Skinyard

Green River

Mudhoney

U men

Alice in Chains

Heatmiser

Thirty Ought Six

Smashing Pumpkins

Nirvana

TAD

Gern Blanston

Sprinkler

Pond

Sissyface

Soundgarden (again)

Tune in, turn it up.  (That was totally a grunge show)
