This week’s show is all about the fantastic Retro Revival Indie Club w/ Wizards of Firetop Mountain & The Objectorz & Slouch & Nervvs gig happening this weekend in Sweeney’s on Dame Street. It promises to be a class night and undoubtedly the best entertainment a fiver will get you on this lovely Island.

This Best of 2015 Show Totally Rocks 17th December
Tonight’s show is of course a Best of 2015 show. I recorded the whole show last night with a faulty mic, so I had some special guests help me to re-record the vox today. Anyways, tune in for the best from:

Tomorrow is the big day to VOTE YES!!!!!! So tonight’s show is dedicated to the referendum. Much like society at large, the bands tonight are filled with people that are straight, gay, transgender, married, divorced, straight edge, drunk bastards, playing Dublin in the next week, addicted to posting pictures of their cats, etc. They all rock.

Then go to the Fucked Up gig tomorrow night in Hangar. (I said on the show that Hangar was the old Tivoli, its actually on Andrew’s Lane in Dublin 2)

Then party all the way till Tuesday night when its time to go see Torche in the Grand Social.

This Country Totally Rocks 19th March
This week’s show is a celebration of Irish music for a week that is full of celebrating Irish culture (and often making a hames of it) So all bands tonight are Irish, bar possibly the first two, but I am not going there! Things kick off in the North with a bit of Rudi and The Outcasts. Then is over to Balina for Section 4 and back to Dublin for New Gods and Fag EnablerZ. We head back Wesht for Gummidge and then shtall it in Dublin for the objectorZ, Wizards of Firetop Mountain, No Spill Blood, Wild Rocket, The Exploding Eyes, The Urges and The Revellions. We get another road trip over to Galway for some So Cow and then its back to Dublin for Squarehead, The Run Ons, Gary Showbiz and finally a bit of Thin Lizzy.

This week Wizards of Firetop of Mountain took over the show, picked all the tunes, drank all the beer and ate all the pizza. What starts out as mildly shambolic and quickly descends into a complete fiascapade eventually turns into possibly be the greatest two hours of radio ever produced. Tune in for:
Wizards of course dropped in because they are launching a tape over the next couple weeks.
The first gig is this Saturday 13th December in the Cork Community Print Shop
Then they launch the tape for Dublin On 20th December in Sweeney’s Dublin.
The other gig mentioned in the show is the New Gods 7″ Launch on the afternoon of 21st December.

This week’s show is dedicated to the somewhat unexpected free gaff that my wife I and I found ourselves with on a summery weekday evening. An art opening in town, a quick falafel and a few tins in Trinners all led to a few tunes getting played and a few more tins getting milled back in Studio F. Things kick off with The Power Chords, The Marked Men, Mikal Cronin, PJ Harvey, Stiff Little Fingers, The Supersuckers and Starfish. Tara gets all teen angsty with The Smiths and House of Love and then its on to tunes you can dance to from Duran Duran, Jay Reatard, Squeeze, Dexys Midnight Runners, Madness, Bad Manners, The Breeders, The Violent Femmes and Tara’s last pick, Wizards of Firetop Mountain. Of course because we were having a bit of a dance in the kitchen the very last tune is a bit of OutKast to get your bop on to.
Tune in, turn it up, get your shapes on.

This Weekend Totally Rocks 84 8th May
This week’s show is somewhat dedicated to that well known Dublin phenomenon where there are no gigs for months and then suddenly gigs every night and then no gigs for months again. The show also features a ton of newish garage-ish music in a stark departure from the last few weeks. Festivities kick off with Sunday night’s Jon Spencer Blues Explosion U:mack gig. Then its on to The Dwarves, The Men, Moonhearts, Bass Drum of Death, Neighborhood Brats, Hunx and his Punx, Mind Spiders, Legendary Wings and Earthmen and Strangers. Then its back to Friday night’s gig in the Joinery featuring Gummidge and :Hounds:. Saturday night sees the welcome return of cans on the canal and gigs in the old Lower Deck featuring (among others) Whole Sick (a re-vamped Pulled Apart who are played here) and good time rock legends Wizards of Firetop Mountain. Closing out the show its Ty Segall, Rozwell Kid, Muletrain, DC Snipers, Sonic Avenues, Video and lastly one from Dinosaur Jr.
If you only take two things from this show let them be these:
1. Go to local gigs cuz they are great craic.
2. If you keep dropping your microphone, your radio show may sound like you recorded it in a wind tunnel.

This week’s show is packed full of riffs, licks and solos. First up its all about the good time Punk/Metal with Fucked Up, Annihilation Time, Wizards of Firetop Mountain, Witch, Mondo Generator and Helmet. Things then go a bit Amrep with Gas Huffer and Boss Hog and then its on to Rapeman, together PANGEA, Qui, Murder City Devils, Leatherface, Stomach, Against Me, Rocket From the Crypt and Tokyo Electron. Last up it’s the Pink Fairies to show us how it was done before most of us were even born.
