Rocket from the Crypt are steaming back in to town this Saturday and so there is no better time to do a 6 degrees of RFTC show. All bands on tonight’s show are connected (sometimes somewhat spuriously) to the lads. Most links tonight are Wikipedia links to help you keep track of the connections. Things kick off with Rocket From the Crypt of course. Then it’s on to Sultans, Hot Snakes, Obits and Beehive and the Barracudas . Then things start to get tricky connection wise. First it’s Mario Rubalcaba’s Spider Fever then it’s his OFF! with Keith Morris, then Electric Frankenstein covers a Morris Circle Jerk tune, then fellow OFF! man Dmiti Coats’ Burning Brides get a look in. I give up on the connection thing for a new tune from FIDLAR and then a dedication to Motor Ed with some Radioactivity off the new album. Things get RFTC again with some Earthless and then it’s a gaggle of Swami Records bands – The Testors, Crime, The Heartaches, Mrs. Magician and Dan Sartain. Next up we go to the local San Diego scene for Tongan Death Grip, The Plateaus. The Powerchords and Wavves. Jay Reatard gets in by the skin of his teeth because his old backing band are now in Wavves. Last up it’s back to John Reis for some of The Night Marchers. And that’s that.
