This American Punk and Hardcore Show Totally Rocks the 4th of July

So in honour of my former nation’s national day, this week’s show is all Yank music, mostly of the early American Hardcore variety.    Things kick off with The Circle Jerks, Angry Samoans, Agent Orange, The Adolescents, The Freeze, DI and The Vandals, before taking a break from the 70’s and 80’s for The Gits, Fleshies, Autistic Youth, Tongan Death Grip (click link for free download of album!) and The Mean Jeans.  We head back to yesteryear for some of The Queers, The Dicks, The Dead Boys, The Hollywood Squares, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, The MC5 and the Dickies.  Things return to the present(ish) for The Spits, Moonhearts, The Boston Chinks and Psyched to Die, before the inevitable return to the salad days of  early American punk with The Descendents and 7 seconds.  The final tune is one that you wouldn’t guess in a million years, isn’t punk, but keeps finding it’s way to the stereo when I hit random and has the word ‘America’ in the title.

Tune in, cook meat, shoot guns, let’s rock.
