Dr. Groove put this show together in a lazy hazy July evening and hopes that it finds you in a similar way. Easy mellow slow grooves which start with Pink Floyd tampered with the Orb sound and then we find ourselves drifting onto an electronica sea, set adrift. There sounds like the voice of Javier Bardem giving advice on the search for love on the El Txef A which I first heard on the excellent An Taobh Tutaill.
Valentine Stip leads us beautifully into the most exciting Hip Hop that I’ve heard in a long time. Dr. Groove has been waiting for the voice of the new Irish youth to emerge and I think that God Knows brilliantly supported by the beat of mynameisjOhn on their new mixtape Rusagano family – which is available via Bandcamp and it is strongly recommend that you get this. You can with this album hear the next generation of Irish Hip Hop come of age. Major Props [this is hip hop lingo] to my friend Shane who tipped me off about these guys via the Dr. Groove on FB. We end the whole show with some graffiti writers talking about tagging cars in New York City.
So put on a good set of cans [headphones] and get a cool drink and settle for an hour of good music.
Enjoy
