This Show Totally Garage Rocks Numero 34

This week starts off a bit garage with a bit of Female Hercules in honour of Reynald’s posthumous birthday celebrations which are happening tonight.  And then the garage just kind of took hold of me (well that and the Bavaria) so it was on to a bit of The Ty Segall Band and then the Moonhearts (who’s only album is produced by Ty Segall and is bassed by Mikal Cronin) so it was a no brainer to stick a Pink Floyd cover  off Ty and Mikal’s colaborative album into the mix.  That one went pretty far out into the weirdo-sphere so I brought it back with a bit of The White Wires and a bit of Belgium’s contribution to the 77 scene, The Kids.  A weird one came up next as I’m not terribly au fait with X, but this track is solid.  The drums melted straight into the Jesus Lizard which put me into a ‘shit hot live band’ mood.  Cue past local heroes, The Things and Bambi.  So all hyped up on local music, I was reminded of the two scumbags that knocked Philo’s statue over during the week so I played a bit of Thin Lizzy and kept it rockin with a bit of Drunk horse.  At this point I had had enough of songs more than a minute and a half long and stuck on a bit of Low Culture and The Mind Spiders (who both feature former members of The Marked Men) Then the Bavaria took over again (well that and the garage). Cococoma, The Jacuzzi Boys , Jaill and Red Mass rounded things off.  Fuck yeah, let’s garage!!!
