• Radioactive International is a collective of like-minded people who are passionate about their music, art and politics. We are a free-form radio station with no set formats, playlists or genres. We have nearly 40 DJs playing a varied mixture of alternative music from punk, metal, ska, reggae and historical recordings. Our main rule? No fascists, racists, sexists, homophobes or religious presenters. We broadcast online, but also transmit live from gigs and festivals. Expect to hear about lefty music, politics and art. A motto of the station is that we’re not here to break the law with an illegal radio station just to play bland pop music available on many of the state and corporate stations.
  • This Thanksgiving Show Totally Rocks 62 28th November

This week’s show starts off with a tongue in cheek reference to my heritage from The Briefs because its Thanksgiving an all.  Then its on to The Reverend Horton Heat cuz you just don’t get much more American than he is.  Next its 4 bands that played Dublin last week The Pixies, Shellac, Television and Strong Boys (all of which I sadly missed).  Things stay caustic with a bit of The Brutal Knights and Turbonegro and then its on to Rozwell Kid and The Jesus Lizard.  I nearly had forgotten that White Denim also played Dublin last week and forgot when Wooden Shjips are playing (ask U:Mack).  The Demonics, Cococoma and Against Me are next before the show takes a turn for the classics, starting with Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers.  Rounding things off it’s Devo, The Jags, The White Wires and The Only Ones.  Its completely understandable why people give out about the origins of Thanksgiving  (and we Americans in general)  and all of that, but for some of us it is a lovely day of sitting around stuffing yourself with food and booze and chatting with your mates and family.  RESULT!!
